My Life Is A Song #94

February 3, 2017 by acrockofschmidt Leave a Comment

As I do more and more of this little musical blogs, I’m becoming all the more cognizant of the fact that 1984 was a spectacular year for music.  Maybe it just feels that way since I was twelve in 1984 and came of age with music that year.  Or maybe it really was a fantastic year for music.  Regardless, a lot of songs from that period are making their way onto this list.

Unlike the other songs from that year I’ve highlighted, this one doesn’t have any story attached to it.  It’s just a song I really loved back then and, yeah sure, still do now.  And like so many other Eighties hits, I’m pretty sure this is a one hit wonder as well.  The band has a peculiar name considering their makeup.  None of them were related and there was three of them not two.  They all looked pretty funky too which begs the question, “Why didn’t I want to dress up like these guys for Halloween?”  That crazy hat the chick playing the wall of jingly things is wearing has me written all over it!

I’m kicking off the weekend with another favourite from what was apparently the most impressionable year of my youth.  Put on your crazy hats and grove to the great “Hold Me Now” by Thompson Twins from Into The Gap released in 1984.
